Had a small issue a week or so ago. The radiator developed a little bit of a leak. I patched it with JB weld and shot the seller a message, not expecting much of a response since it was outisde eBay's protection period.

Surprisingly enough, the seller responded asking for a picture. I sent them one showing the leak (I had put UV dye in the coolant, so you could see it). They responded pretty quickly and said they had sent another out.

I received it and installed it a few days ago. I improved my fan mounting system, added a lower restraint so it couldn't slide forward, and installed it. I've had zero issues and I'm adding a couple pictures to the changes to the original post very shortly.

Default How is the Camaro radiator

Hey Alex How is the Camaro radiator? I did the inline thermostat mod then had my original Y split and dump the fluid. I added fluid too soon and it split the overflow tank. I’ve had some higher temps probably from too much pressure. Just not sure what the pressure is from.

I have dual AC if that makes any difference.

Has anyone else found a radiator that doesn’t require tapering down the hoses?

I’m curious if anyone has done this radiator upgrade with an LS swap and with air conditioning retained?????

It looks like it'd be possible. The thermostat on the LS is on the water pump so you don't have to mess with that. You'd have to take a 90 degree out of the radiator and run to the LS inlet. A tight 90 should clear the AC pump.

I just finished swapping an L33 into my Disco. If it doesn't do well this summer I'll go down this same road and upgrade the radiator. Seems like it'd be pretty straight forward compared to the LS swap project. I've already converted to electric fans. There isn't much room between the fans and the pulleys (I had to cut the fan threads off the water pump for clearance) so I'll have to see about finding a radiator no thicker than the Disco radiator. If I end up doing this, I'll make a post about it.

I’m not clear about the way the oil and trans cooler were attached to the aftermarket radiator. With this swap I can see that the aftermarket radiator was cut to accommodate the cooler pipes, but I didn’t see how they were reattached. Any ideas about that?

No - you're right, the pics aren't very informative in that regard. I think I'd have to get in there and see if I could make brackets that would attach to the new radiator. Aluminum stock is pretty easy to work with so it can't be too much trouble... I hope. If I go this route I'll post a writeup.

Alex, just checking in on this rad choice. Still running strong? I'm getting real fed up with plastic end tank units and could really use some additional capacity being at the elevation I'm at.
