The posts from the forum members about vehicles with equivalent wheels helped a lot! The choices opened up tremendously!

Here are the wheel candidates I'm considering so far.... they are KMC XD Series wheels. After doing some preliminary research, over 90% of aftermarket wheels are manufactured in China.





Does anyone know where the original factory Land Rover wheels were manufactured? AB tells me they're not sure - maybe England, maybe Germany. I'm wondering whether the upgrade is really a downgrade and quality is being sacrificed for looks.

TheWhiteRover put 20" RRS wheels on his D2. There arent any pictures on his profile, but if you look through his reddit post history you can find some. He's got a 3" lift and 33" Cooper Discoverer A/Ts. http://reddit.com/u/Unixman32

He tells me that when he wears out the coopers he is going to go back to the 18s with some 32" muds, but he still seems to really like his current setup. Said it helped gas mileage too, however that's possible.

If they're being made in China, quality IS being sacrificed for looks. That said, I know people who have bough those rims (not for heavy off road use mind you) and have had no problems.

 

Depends on the wheel from LR. I tested 3 different wheels, the countries of origin were -

Spain
Italy
Hungary

I'm sure there are more.
