Default Valley Pan Install-'03 Disco

OK gents,

I posted a post before but no straight answered.....so let's try again.

When installing valley pan gasket on '03 Discovery:

1. Do I need to put RTV sealant on the coolant ports on the gasket (2 on each head)? If I do...please explain the best procedure.

2. Do I need to put RTV sealant on the bolt washers (someone mentioned that if you don't, you can get coolant leak from the bolts, which I find hard to believe)?

3. Any other things I should do that RAVE does not call for?

I don't feel doing the same job twice .

Thanks!

rtv sealant on the parts where the heads meet the block that little space the seals don't cover. then make sure to tighten the bolts in the correct order and torque.

Thanks!

I just finished mounting it on. Also I put "blue" locktite on the bolts and a thin coat of black RTV on the bolt washers. I heard that antifreeze has a tendency to leak through the bolts. I figured, since I am already here.....why not .

Cheers.
