Default Warning Lights - ABS, TC and Descend light

Hey Fellas,

I recently had a flat battery and jump-started the car. All of a sudden, the ABS, TC, and Descend warning lights have all come on and stayed on. I attempted to reset the codes with an ODB reader but I don't think these are part of that system. The ODB reader is not showing any faults in that system, so I'm a little curious on how to proceed.

Any tips or things to check?

Thank you!

Search the forum for 3 amigos. It's a common problem with the DII's and usually has to do with the a faulty ABS shuttle valve or wheel sensor. Strange that yours would light up after jumping the battery.

Mine came on immediately after changing the coolant. I have a theory that sometimes these are just barely hanging on for dear life and will fall off at the slightest provocation.

Did you drive it at all, after jump starting? The WABCO ECM most likely detected a "below minimum voltage for working the ABS unit" and set a code. Usually (and l'm talking generally here, about "most" WABCO systems...not LR specifically), if you drive the vehicle over 8 mph for a length of time the ECM sees the repair has been made and code goes inactive. Then, once you cycle the key again...lights are gone.

If this doesn't do the trick, you may need to find someone with a better scan tool/code reader. Most garages will have one, they should be able to read and clear...or tell you what the issue is...and then you can come back for further advice.

If you plan on keeping the Dll for a while and would like to be able to read certain codes, this is a nice scan tool for your average needs. No, it won't do everything...but it will do the majority of things needed.

It's very easy to use and pretty reasonably priced.

Brian... what did I just click on?

Monkey motors doesn't come up and the link does something funky. I'd be interested in which reader it is if you don't mind stating it? Just drove Bertha home and I'm in love again. I have missed her so much - and am motivated to start working on her. Starting with the driver side door that doesn't go down.

Sounds a little like me... maybe that's why I have such a soft spot for the DII
