Thanks for the input everyone.
I found the thread Disco Mike had commented on regarding a "heavy duty" water pump with brass impeller from BP Utah and it is the same Airtex model Atlantic British offers.
Atlantic British matched the $139.00 and I should have the part this Friday.

For installation Is there any need to use high temp silicon gasket materials or is the supplied gasket sufficient?

Unfortunately the pump defo shot. The hole is a 'tell tale' hole exactly to show a defective leaking water pump.

A small hole? You mean the weep hole? or am I mistaken?

How much was it leaking? The weep hole on all water pumps are supposed to leak a little, in certain conditions. Its to adjust for changes in atmospheric pressure. If its leaking a lot, change it.

EDIT: Didn't see you said there was a puddle.... opps. But yeah, its coming out of the weep hole.

Thanks for the input everyone.
Swapped the old pump for the Airtex from Atlantic British and all is good.
Got a little frustrating trying to knock the fan loose with the 36" fan wrench as the belts kept slipping. I had to slide in a large flat head between the bolts on the water pump pulley to stop it from turning and then knocking the fan wrench - it finally came loose.
