Water Pump Replacement issues
I'm replacing my water pump on my 2002 Disco 2, and by all accounts (Forums, Atlantic British how-to videos) I should need a 36mm fan clutch wrench to remove the radiator fan. So I go out and buy the wrench only to find that it's too big. I need a 32mm instead. Why would this be? No one in town has this wrench, only special order. Does anyone know why its 32mm?
I have a 2 sided wrench 32/36
I think I got it at rovers north. a couple of years ago, so I may be wrong. I also have a big wrench that works great. Got it at northern tool.
A crescent will also get back there.

What Dusty said: 12" adjustable wrench worked fine for me. Had to rotate the fan just so, but the wrench fits (and it's not a particularly low-profile wrench, Crescent brand, '70s or '80s vintage if I had to guess) and the fan came loose nice and easy with a tap or two on the wrench from a mallet. Have had it off several times now using the same method.

I got my set at O'reilly Auto Parts... loaner. Came in a kit with several different sizes. I also got the adjustable holder for the bolts. Worked really well and when you are done, take them back.
Made mine out of about a 2' long x 4" wide piece of 1/8" sheet metal. Cut a notch that fits the fan nut, slides down in there. I had an issue with with the tools I had at the house being too wide also (didnt want to grind any of them thinner), and I didnt want to go rent.
