I use these and they work great.
How does that work? Does it just plug into an existing fuse space?

Yes, you pull the fuse, then you place the fuse into this new block. This is a very safe way of doing it. Just don't overload the circuit.

By the way, the 12v to 5v USB adapter you would wire directly to the Cigarette Lighter wiring is doing exactly the exact same thing that a USB adapter is doing when you plug it into the Cigarette Lighter. Thus, the reason I have wired into the Cigarette Lighter before. I only wire in things that are already designed for the CIG outlet to begin with. That way, I know I'm within specs. There are literally Hundreds of MILLIONS of those USB adapters being used in Cigarette Lighters around the world. The Fuse takes care of any malfunctions.

Same Input and Output Voltages:

So I would just plug that thing into fuse #15 and then run the wire to the off to the usb adapter?

Yes. Also connect the ground of the Adapter to a ground somewhere. Any metal body part. There will be TWO fuses in the new block. One for the original fuse location, and one for the new wire coming out.

If you have AutoZone near you: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=32414_0_0_

There is a good ground location under the switch panel on the console. That is what I have used for grounding my 12V connectors I put in the ashtray area in the back seat.

One other note on installing the USB...if you use the fuse panel it will only charge while the ignition is in acc position or the truck is running.

If you want to power all the time then you will need to run a new power wire.

Little freshening of the center console.
New boots, and rubber mat. Much nicer now.

That looks great. My rubber mat is still good, but I'm noticing wear on the brake boot. Time to change those out. I like yours, nice look with the stitching.

Where did you get your mat from? Mine is dirty and worn.

Evilbay.

Have you tried a scrub brush and dishsoap? Got this one to replace the crappy fake wood that was glued to the console. It was dirty and worn looking.. but it cleaned up really nice.
