Hi

I'm having a few things done to the car by a service company that specialised in UK cars and land rovers in particular.

Murphys law, the tech there said that he had entered the codes but the car was not responding.... he believed it was a problem between the cpu and the aerial but the car radio works fine on am and fm so I am not sure if the path to the aerial is bad to the cpu but certainly it works with the radio..
The plot continues..

PS I am aware that the aerials are wires embedded in the rear side window but am puzzled at my bad luck of stumping up $200+ for that simple two button remote device and then not being able to use it.

Default Different receiver... I think

I'm pretty sure the remote receiver is different from the am/fm antenna.

It is located just forward of the rear sunroof. Small plastic box.

I can't remember the name, but I have pulled a few for customers with the exact same issue you are having.

Also, not sure if you bought your remote new or used, but I sell used ones with a new case and key blank for $75.

Good luck. If you need anymore help pm me.

Replaced headlights, Park Lights, Side Marker Lights, Replaced the fried $114 Flat Four wiring converter Trailer Wiring Kit Land Rover Discovery II with an $11.24 one from Amazon
IIT 16690 Trailer Converter - Trailer Lighting - Amazon.com IIT 16690 Trailer Converter - Trailer Lighting - Amazon.com
Just spliced it in, soldered the connections, and put heat shrink on the joints... I don't think the Rover specific connector that plugs into the existing harness is worth $103...

Also installed the 12000 LB Badlands Winch in my custom Hard Labor Creek Bumper today and installed the Roller Fairlead. I still haven't wired it all up yet, but at least I got it mounted. Had to make a slight modification to the grill, but it turned out really clean. Once I get it all wired up, I'll post some pics...

Finally got my RTE bumper in and installed. Also added some Warn SDB-210's, adjusted my steering box, and added a TF adjustable panhard rod.

My first weekend off in 6 weeks was spent taking my 3 year old on his first ever camping trip. It's been a rare warmer winter here in the Pac NW but temps still got down to 30 degrees over night, which made for a rough night in the 4 Seasons VE25 by North Face

Now, If I can get some time next weekend, I can finally take off my ladder to send to Triar (bought a new one from AB) and install my Winch...

We camped out at Kalaloch Beach. It should definitely be a "must visit" on any NW-bound camping trip.

That's a good time rite there! This is the perfect time of year for us to get as much camping in as possible here in Florida. Before long it will be too hot & muggy! Your rig looks great!

@ Robert Booth

You're making me very jealous with those pictures. My wife and just left Seattle in October to come to Vegas for a job. I really miss the pacific northwest. Kalaloch was one of our favorite places. The Olympic peninsula in general is probably my favorite place in all of the continental US. We're really hoping to get back up that way once I get the experience I want down here career wise.

What part of Seattle do you live? We were in Seatac, just south of Southcenter.

Rolled over 200,000 miles tonight. Still runs like a new truck!

I fixed my less than stellar heating inside the DII by using a can of compressed air to blow 15 years of dirt out of the temp sensor/fan thing. It improved the heat so much I'm mad I didn't think of it earlier in the winter.

I also installed a rear ladder.
