Finished up my first top end rebuild! Along with new timing chain and cogs, and oil pump! Running like a champ!

Replaced my fuel pump. No more gas smell or risk of explosion. Yay.

Yesterday I finished refinishing my Safari Gard bumper and bolted it to the truck. Just need to get the skid plate on, winch wired up and grille trimmed.

Default My Disco 2 Upgrades

I have a 2000 Disco 2 and have had it about a year. Just recently I've replaced the head gasket, coil pack, ignition wires (8MM), spark plugs, mass air flow sensor, entire exhaust system - manifold into a Magna flow system, with all new upstream and downstream O2 sensors.

Not to mention a new windscreen and rust repairs...

After all that, the engine fired-up and ran fine, until the point it got to operating temperature, after that, it ran rough. I plugged in my ODB2 reader and sure enough miss-firing showed-up, P1300, P0301, 304, 307 & why not, 300.

Now, I disconnected the battery when I was installing the O2 sensors and the Disco 2 sounded really good with the new exhaust. I've checked the engine ground and the connections from the coil packs to the plugs, all snug.

So why the H am I seeing the miss-fire codes

Hey Greg!
Sorry your getting codes on the fresh top end rebuild, but if you have a question be sure to use the "search" option to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. If that fails, start a new thread so we can help you find a solution, instead of it getting buried on this one.

Hope it gets figured out!

Eric

She looks mighty fine! Did you get the bumper repainted? If so, how much was it? I have a ARB I'm looking to repaint

Thanks! I stripped it and repainted it myself. I really wanted to have it blasted and powdercoated, but didn't want to spend the money.

Yesterday I worked on my AC blower issue some more, since I have found my multimeter and can actually test circuits, rather than just guessing... I now know where I have power and where I don't, but I still have no AC.

Today I worked with my dad again, doing a survey on a 40 acre parcel. He was running late, so I ran some trails while I waited for him... I'm learning what the Discovery's limitations are... Open desert, no problem. Sand, no problem. Rocky broken trail, no problem, as long as there's adequate clearance. Hills can be a problem... especially when they are steep, composed of sand and/or gravel over bedrock, and have technical elements like cross axle sections or a series of 1-2 foot tall bedrock steps... I dragged my back end several times, and got a lot of practice backing down hill...
