A week or so old but finally got around to the Three Amigo fix 'Option-B' and all has been good. I put this off for so long, telling myself it was outside of my skill set, couldn't be further from the truth, this really is a simple fix - if you have those pesky Three Amigos, this is a must!

Gave my exhaust manifolds a beauty treatment
- Dunked in distilled vinegar overnight
- Dunked in baking soda to neutralize acid
- wire brushed like mad to get rid of all rust
- dried and immediately sprayed with wd40
- dried again, cleaned with mineral spirits
- a few coats of CRC Dry Graphite Lube to make them pretty. This isn't paint, and its supposed to withstand the heat and retain the look.
Not the greatest before photo (this is my attempt and sanding - no dice)
After their bath

Installed two front drive shafts last night, so both Discovery's are once again...moving. Was going to start on the engine work on the 03, but decided to drive it for a bit. There are a couple things I'd like to do on her, and doing these tasks at work...on the hoist...just makes things easier.
Took the 01 for its first ride with everything completely done on the tranny install. She drives nice and no lights on the dash...hurray. I'll get plates this week coming up, and put some miles on her...before handing her off to my wife.
I'm going to drive the 01 across the field out back, which has a nice deep ditch intersecting it...so wish me luck.
Brian.
