OK, so for me, 9.6 mpg is unacceptably bad. I've now begun a pro mpg campaign.

Step 1 was fixing my air intake box so that only cold air from the driver-side fender intake was going through to the air box.

Done!

Next, I ordered a Hayden 2781 premium fan clutch and 2 O2 sensors. Whichever comes before the other will be Step 2, then when the next item arrives, that'll be Step 3. I looked at the old O2 sensors and they are covered externally in rust...so they have been on this truck a Looooong time.

Step 4 will be to run some Techron through the fuel injectors, plus do in-town driving only in position "3" instead of "D" for the transmission.

My goal is 12.5 mpg in town. $0.18 per mile in premium fuel.

Put the box there to prevent further damage at the time.

Nearly 1000 mile road trip up the California Central Coast to Monterey and back for car week. Included a foray out into the dunes at Pismo.

Truck performed flawlessly.

I added one blue T5 LED to the clock and removed green screen, six T5 blue LEDs to the climate control and soldered in an LED to door lock/unlock switch.
They all are dimmable from the driver's side dim switch.
Blue T5 LEDs!

So you can't just show such goodness as that and not provide more details!

Supplier for the T5's? Pics on how you soldered one into the door lock switch? Did they automatically become dimmable or did you have to do something extra for that?

Oh, and D@MN they look good!

Blue T5 LEDs!

Looks great!
I had already planned on doing this, as I have on several vehicles.
Best leds I've gotten are from
www.superbrightleds.com
I've ordered several China cheapos on ebay, and they've all been junk. They would only last a couple weeks, then die.
I've yet to remove the gage cluster/speedo. I'm curious if it has standard bulbs in it like I think it does. Or if it needs leds soldered to it as well.
I ordered alot of parts this week, including an Ultra-gage, which has a blue screen. That reminded me I needed to order some blue T5 leds so the dash matches, and the green is gone.
Thanks for posting this! I'll post mine when it's finished.

Blue T5 LEDs!

Is the carbon fiber print on your dash a pre-made kit, or did you cut a piece of cf sticker material?
Either way, it looks really good, and has been on my "to do" list too.
