Did you do front windshield also? How does this affect vision, any distortions? Have any photos you could share. I like this idea for the pass and driver side windows.
I didn't do the front windshield. The Disco 2 side glass is flat so that minimizes distortions. You see a *little* bit of a "wave" in your view if you put your face near a window and then look through it at an extreme angle forward, say, 30 to 60 degrees. Just normal viewing (perpendicular) you don't notice a distortion or wave.
Window tint might be as much as 2 mils thick. I used 12 mil film. If I do it on a future vehicle I think that I'll go with 32 mils (9mm/.40 cal protection) now that I have the first clue about what I'm doing.

That is basically clear window tint.
The clear or tinted film will help a side window from falling apart when impacted(even though the plastic layer of safety glass will hold pieces together to some extent).
Given the thickness and strength of the windshield, compared to the other windows, either film is not needed on the windshield.
Clear film shows scratches easier too.
No benefit to put in on the windshield.
Prior to 2013, side windows weren't laminated, they're just tempered safety glass. Starting in 2013, laminated side glass began being phased in under federal law (FMVSS 226 occupant ejection mitigation), but not until the 2017 model year were all vehicles required to have the laminated glass (Saflex, Guardian). With loopholes, there will still be cars sold in the US in 2018 with old tempered side glass.
Of course, there's a backlash to this with some safety experts (and some first responders) saying the beefed up front and side laminated glass is more difficult to break, especially in a submergence scenario, causing delays in occupant extraction and escape.

Finally got around to replacing the Evap Purge Valve with the Hyundai part. Haven't been driving it much. It's been roughly three months, but only a few miles (less than 100mi) since it needed replacing. Hope that didn't foul up my O2 sensors and plugs...
Tires are in. I appreciate the design and think it compliments the D1. These are Treadwright tires. I drive it less than a 1000 miles a year, no need to spend a grand on tires. I got 4 of these for less than $300.
