Added military type snorkel top. Few dollers at the hardware store...verses...waiting to order one.
While waiting for the first coat of paint to dry, remounted the TCU higher under the seat. Usually, it is under the bracket (which would hold radio amp)...but I slipped a few pieces of rubber under it and zip-tied it to the top of the bracket. Gained a few inches, incase water get inside rover and the zip ties make it easy to remove if it does get wet.
Painted snorkel. Yes, the duct tape will come off fender...just holding the gasket around the base while the sealant dries. Not to bad, for a total cost of 18 bucks.
Left the cover off the bottom portion of the seat, makes getting my feet through the opening easier. Removed the rear stops on the seat sliders and will be adding 2 pieces of steel to lengthen the adjustment a few inches.
I just simply wanted to swap out a purge control valve on Old Faithful and instead it decided to somehow kick my *** and cause damage to my pinky finger (bad enough that some meat was left hanging out....) Ran inside, cleaned the wound, pushed the meat back in, applied some antibiotic cream, and wrapped that sucker up and called it good (chicks dig scars right?? lol). Then I went back out and kicked that purge control valve's *** and quickly tossed it into the trash!
Just finished swapping out my front springs to level it out, replaced idler pulley, reinstalled front diff, cleaned up front brakes (hopefully that squeek is gone), and topped off my oil after I noticed it was a quart low.
Should be all set for a 750 mile road trip tomorrow.
I replaced 2 door actuators, found them very easy with the exception of dropping the connecting rod for the handle into the door. I. Ouldnt find it for the love de of me. Lol. So I made a new one out of a safety clip. I also changed my front drive shaft.
I stopped in at Discount tire to get a nail removed from my rear right tire. As I waited I started eyeing the tires that they had on display. Ended up buying BFG All Terrain T/A KO2 tires all around for $752.
I went from 255/65R16 slick house shoes to 265/75R16 Caterpillar steel toe workman boots.
