Rewired nonfunctioning fog lights on rear bumper. Now, they are additional tail lights.

Finally got a 40A fuse for my driver's seat, and a hitch mounted recovery shackle. I think I might order one of those el cheapo snorkels just for kicks

Received the 4.0 to replace the 4.6 yesterday afternoon. One question, what is the downside of not putting on the SAI?

Downside? None. A polar bear 40 years from now might cough a couple of times but that's about it. You'll have a lot more space in the engine bay too

Stopped off at Austin Roverworks to see my 2 best friends Ken & Billy, saw some sweet D90’s, a nice Camel Trophy built RRC, and then I made my way out to Marble Falls, TX so I can be at the gates early for the HCRR Event.

Looks sweet @Best4x4!!

Fiddled with more wiring / lights stuff and found a crack on my expansion tank. Wired up the extra LED pod i had to the rear foglight and mounted it under the rear bumper on the left side. Should make for backing up easier using the side view mirror as the other LED pod is is mounted above the bumper on the right side

Cool Donor Motor

Removed everything but the crank and pistons from the donor 4.0 block. I am very happy with the motor, it is clean with no ridges, no obvious slipping of the sleeves, and more importantly there is no indication of any steam cleaning or other water issues. The combustion chambers had little to no carbon or oil present and the spark plugs looked worn, but excellent condition. This appears to be a first tear-down of the motor. I will put my new timing chain and gears on along with the new front cover and the original 4.6 SAI heads tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed...
