Well, had fun dealing with this tumbler this AM. My keyless entry has never worked so always just used the key -- no biggie. Yesterday, the key would not turn at all so i had to figure out what was going on. Looks like the locking wafer broke, good thing i snagged a tumbler from the junkyard to pick parts from. The broken bit was lodged and wouldn't allow for any movement. Took everything apart and cleaned it up making sure not to misplace and of the small *** springs. Finally got everything back together along with relubing the assembly -- smooth as butta now!
Terrafirma Steering Dampers were on sale at Atlantic British so I pulled the trigger on that and swapped them out. I think it could have been the original on there - had to take a torch to it to get it off. I also picked up a new PVC Hose kit for my intake manifold/tb and swapped that out.
I'm still chasing 4 codes since getting him back out on the road...too much fun.

I had the exact same thing happen on my truck a year and a half ago and did the exact same repair. A locksmith told me the broken piece is called a retainer wafer. Like you I scavenged a replacement from a donor truck. It's interesting the same piece broke on your truck in the same place. I should have perhaps just deleted it; I don't see that it actually does anything. This pic is of the broken retainer wafer and the replacement, before I cleaned up the replacement.
Yep, your post gave me the "courage" to try and fix this myself lol! Thank you!

Brain fart moment this morning...driving in...slight fog and freezing rain...thought hey, I should turn on the fog lights. Flip the switch...nothing happens. Few miles later...realize...those came off with the stock bumper.
Note to self...try to make note of such things in the future.
