Badly leaking power steering pump to reservoir hose.
The end at the pump was totally mushroomed out.
Flushed with 3 qts of fluid - no more leaking so far......

Just got the order in on the terrafirma SS brake lines, bummer they sent Britpart. However, in the process of building an on-board air compressor.

My buddy is visiting us from Germany. He brought some tasty German libations and a box full of Seafoam, Berrymans B-12 and BG 44K cans!!!
They don’t sell this snake oil over here in the UK. Lol

I replaced the sway bar link on my 99 Disco II. 3/4 of the time involved was just trying to remove the rusted bolts on the broken link. Moving that hydraulic arm back up where I could install the link was very entertaining too.

I got another sucker hooked on Land Rover Discovery 2's. I told my bro-inlaw I'd help him get a cheap truck up and running.

Found one for $500 that "needed a transmission." Turned out to need a lot more - oil starvation problem and a cross threaded spark plug - we took it out for a test run in the mountains for a couple of days camping.

He's hooked and the rover did great.

Mine near - his far.

750 mile road trip. Then a 300 mile road trip. 1 quart of oil. 13 mpg. 108 degrees F outside and cold AC inside.

Hit one bump that briefly triggered the 3 Amigos!

Hola!

Turned truck off then on, no more 3 amigos (fixed some time ago). Just a blip.

Tube to washer nozzle got so hot it popped off. Easy fix on the road.

Still haven't had to use my new auxillary jerry can, but it's been nice knowing that I have a reserve tank.

Also, my jump box somehow got moved to my ski boat, so I guess I need another one for the D2 now.

Anyway, this is a lot of truck for $500 (well, and an engine rebuild!).

harvested a lot of parts off the '99 truck: locking transfer case; d1 cdl shifter assembly; oil cooler and lines; transmission cooler and lines; rear step; fender flares; bumper trims; every fuse and light bulb; horn buttons; wiper and turn signal stalks; high line speakers and audio head unit. not going to be much left of it by the time i send it to the scrapper.
