Recovery. Well, not quite...but it allowed me to use my recovery gear.
Taking the 04 to work to do a few things...and getting it out of the way for a few loads of gravel (parking area expansion).
Hope the dweeb patrol doesn't senence me to life in forum jail or banish me to forever look for that elusive 10mm socket for this post.

Drove 7hr round trip to pickup the LR I always dreamed about owning!!! Yes the floor & rockers are rusty & honestly I just don’t care! I’m going to fix the high idle, make it road worthy and enjoy it. If a chunk falls off I’ll start learning how to weld lol.
Besides the rust it is very clean inside outside and the cloth seats are intact without a single tear. Something about the older RRC & D1’s but they have a totally different smell to the interior (reminds me of old military canvas). Gonna have to trouble shoot all the aux light wiring also, but I was happy to find 3 Safarigard items under it = 2 diff guards & front skid.

Drivers seat mod to provide some much needed leg room.
Gained about 3" of leg room by adding brackets to relocate the seat track gear guide.
Not the best pic but the tab under the bracket is where the guide used to attach.
Its now back about 3" and bolted to the new bracket. The front of the bracket is bolted to an existing hole that was unused.

Disassembled the engine, pulled the crank, pistons, front cover, water pump, and oil pan. Cleaned the up. Taking the crank, connecting rods, heads and used bare block to a machine shop on monday to be cleaned and inspected and begin the process of building a short block. Also wash the Disco and cleaned the engine compartment.
After cleaning
