New exhaust from the manifolds back. One cat was already gone so I ditched the other one. I did put a flowmaster 40 series on just to tone it down lol

Trivial, but after last week's quick change of the steering drag link end, I adjusted the drag link length to align the steering wheel to the front wheels. Super simple, and done in about 10 minutes, with about two minutes of that having my son beat the dried up moss off my back and shoulder.

I was able to get my new hinge on the tail door by myself. Not too bad really, need to source a couple rivets for it though.

At the same time patched the rear windshield washer tube, and I can clean my rear window while in the car for the first time in years.

Well it wasn't today but we have acquired another Rover, this one a 01 Disco II for our trail rig, canine taxi and kayak carrier. It does need some work, the head gaskets seem to be leaking over the rear of the engine in the left side, the windshield wipers won't turn on the rear wiper won't turn off and the AC isn't coming on at all. I did give it some antifreeze and had a quick drive and it is in pretty decent shape for 177K, but I will say that my LR3 at 177K is a lot solider and quieter than the D2.
I will tear into the Panda after I get the old classic 1974 Mini back on the road. First things first!

I wasn't as lucky as the top nipple was already broken off mine (2002), so needed some drilling to get things going. Then the lousy little drill bit itself cracked off in there. Fun! Got it extracted finally and feel good that I've at least put less pressure on my slightly seeping VC gaskets going forward! Have a 2001 that I'm going to take a peek at a bit later this week.

Swapped my two front tires side to side to correct a slight pull to the left. Yesterday I rotated my tires, hoping that would fix it, but nope. Crossing the fronts did. Also adjusted my parking brake drum so it now engages in 3 clicks. Finally adjusted my steering gear box to take out some of the slop. Only moved the Allen bolt maybe 1/6 a turn and it's like night and day different.

3 issues fixed in 30 minutes. I call that a win!

Has anyone had there d2 key be submerged in water? I fell out of a canoe this morning and soaked mine underwater for a bit. I’m guessing I should do the rice in a bag trick?

Completed almost a 600 mile round trip from Denver down to Pagosa Springs and 30-50 miles off road once in Pagosa Springs. All I can say is I love this damn thing but it is woefully underpowered at high elevation. Fingers crossed someone gets the emissions figured out with ACE's swap and my motor keeps trucking until I can finish some house renovations...

On a separate note I'm working with Timbren Industries (https://timbren.com/active-off-road-bumpstops/) to see if we can get a set made up as an option for the D2. I'd love to run hydraulic bump stops but don't want to cut up the rear cargo area to install them like Richard Gallant did. I think it was him and they look awesome!

Finally started the 'roof restoration'! I dropped it off at the trim shop so they can pull the headliner out and get started on recovering it. It'll be going to the body shop next to get the new sunroof & motor put in and the roof painted, then it'll go back to have the headliner installed.

What came of this?!?! My oh my that's a bit scary.

That is your cylinder wall if I'm not mistaken, the very bottom of it where it interlocks with the sleeve? Perhaps you have a later year around '03/'04 where they interlock at the bottom? If it is, I suspect the vehicle would run without it.
