Yes. Greased it when I got it and when I changed the oil a few thousand miles after I installed it...didn't grease it before this trip as just didn't have time but it should not have died this soon. Not proud of it but my tom woods has gone 30k since being greased with zero issues. Didn't bring one of my spares either as I assumed it was probably the least likely part to fail on this trip lol
What was recommended to me was:
Grease the drive shaft
Go for a short drive - a couple of minutes
Grease again
Repeat until grease comes out on the 1st or second pump
The idea is the rotation moves the grease round, I do not know how much credence to give it but I figure it can not hurt.
I didn’t do anything per say... but I did talk with my local shop. Clarkson runs good, no codes, but needs a complete reseal, freshening up and could use a new front cover. He’s leaking from every possible gasket and the front cover is leaking coolant. So I have acquired a freshly rebuilt Rover V8 from a G4, which is currently at the shop, who’s owner decided to jettison it in favor of a supercharged Chevy V8. The shop is going to warranty the engine so he is going to replace the front cover gasket, head gaskets and install ARB studs as part of the deal. He’ll get a custom aluminum radiator, electric fans with a manual on switch for wheeling or slow traffic situations. We are also going to do the thermostat mod and coil relocation while we’re at it. Will also put in a coolant pressure gauge. Comes out to be a very good deal vs completely resealing, doing the heads and freshening up my current engine. I’ll be selling my original engine as well.
Plans are made, money is spent. Wish me luck! I’m very excited! I’ll keep updates coming.

I've always liked K&N filters but not their prices so I decided to try out the Britpart DA4260 air filter for £25. I can say it is very well made and sturdy for it's size.

I've had that filter for 2-3 years now in my 99 D2 and it's great!

I tried doing something like that but the center plastic trim is old and prone to breaking. Instead I hooked up a marine hideaway stereo, and it works beautifully.
Not sure if it counts as a mod, but I got tired of leakage and messing around with the darn thing and buying a new sunroof was out of the question. I went and bought a sheet of 2 mm thick aluminum drilled the holes and rivet it in place. It's not the prettiest but hey who's inspecting the top.
Still thinking of adding some gear to the piece I just installed, the sheet is solid and I can always reinforce it if need be.
I've got my in line thermostat parts ordered (changing it up a little this time, I'll make a post when its in), tires ready to be mounted, lift ready to go on, and 18" of snow coming on the 5th!
Hoping I can get everything installed on the 3rd or 4th and go wheeling the 5th. Fingers crossed!
I disabled the daytime running light function on my 2004, just chewing too many bulbs. the high performance h7 in my area are 30 bucks a pop.
I pulled the relay, easy fix, all other lighting functions still work. Cant say this will work for all discovery 2s but it worked on my 2004.
