I stand corrected, someone does make a frame tied option. Not overly familiar with that brand.

depends on if you get lucky on where you strike the slider. Generally that front end right behind tire is where my bending moments have occurred (white disco has old rte sliders that I've bent a few times lol). I'd bet that with only 2 ties to the chassis these would be marginally better than without but I bet they still bend.

I probably have enough square tube to make it happen.
If you do add frame supports, make sure to allow for flex since they are also attached to the body. On mine, I just used a poly bushing in between the support arm and the frame side bracket. Also, my frame side mounts are welded on plate that's welded to the frame, so spread out the load on the thin frame rails.

FWIW, the legendary Safari Gard sliders that came on the Kalahari DIIs are body-mounted. They bolt on using the same mounting holes as the standard, plastic sill guards, just like what Erikleonard has pictured. Not arguing with what rikkd wrote; just sayin' ... I scored a pair of the Safari Gards from a boneyard Kalahari here a couple years ago. I had to drill out the holes for the rivnuts, but they bolted right up. I do not, however, "wheel hard".

you come down on em and they'll still bend. My set is og RTE which is equally regarded and it bends just the same. I wouldn't trust or install any "new" safarigard stuff if he's still peddling crap. Couldn't pay me to put anything of his on one of my rovers.

Agreed. The original Safari Gard is long gone.

I definitely should've clarified, sill mounted ones are still fine and way better than stock! I still run sill mounted ones, and have done trails such as Hell Hole. I just gotta make sure someone can jump on the sliders to let me out. The sills are definitely tweaked but that's a later issue. Sliders with nerf bars also double as door ding defenses. I've had 2 people open their door and hit my sliders. Take it parking spots in my area are relatively small.

I had a friend who was awful at parking. He parked over the line and I had to teach him a lesson. So I parked real close to him. Maybe a foot between his door and my sliders. Needless to say, he had a fun time getting into his car.

Picked up a couple friends for mine! One 2 weeks ago for parts, and one to daily and use as a light wheeler yesterday. These things need an addiction warning on them!

I hit big bear to go play in the snow and mud.

It was very cold and the next morning the brakes were very soft so I will need to switch to the 03 until I figure that one out.
