If you look after your 4.0 and keep it from overheating it will likely last a long time.

I was doing a Sunday morning inspection and noticed a breeze on my hand. Not sure what to call it but that cheapy fastener on the SAI pump (correct me if I am worng with the part name, I am still learning) was failing. Today I put in an 8-32 1 1/2 with a nylon locking nut to close it back up.

she has 138k. Just had a crankshaft position sensor go bad. Shut off completely at 45 mph.

I know the CKPS can blink out at any time, but at least the one in my truck was thoughtful enough to do so while I was stopped at a stoplight (a hundred miles from home with six boy scouts in the truck on the way back from a weekend trip).

The idea of it failing while rolling is scary. Having it happen at 45 mph is one thing; having it happen at highway speed in heavy traffic would be something else entirely. You can still steer and you can still brake, but with a lot more effort (suddenly). Hopefully you can get to the shoulder, but if you were going uphill in traffic that might be difficult. Lots for the brain to process simultaneously.

Installed new tires and took her for some snow testing.
265/60/18 Discoverer Rugged Treks
Wheels are freshly powder coated, and I put on black all-steel lug nuts.
Spare fits without rubbing
Tires are awesome. Quiet and smooth on road and great on snow.

Where did you find the black steel lugs?
