Replaced the small SAI line that goes from the vacuum res to the control valves. It was basically just falling off of the reservoir.

Also replaced the spark plugs.

Still having some misfires at idle. Going to do plugs and coil packs next just in case. Open to other ideas.

Default 2011 LR4 - what’s that ticking sound?

My LR4 makes a ticking sound when I fire it up cold. Does this sound diagnosable by the sound to anyone?

One foot of fresh snow overnight at Tahoe, the sno park lot was not groomed. The Subarus had problems, a model Y got stuck several times, but the Land Rover took it with ease.

Well didn't make much progress this weekend on the HG job. Garage even with multiple space heaters was still unbearably cold. Did get the driver head off and like 1 screw away from the rad being out (seriously the worst design ever is all those phillip head screws with zero room to work on, if I can find some hex head replacements I will use those when reassembling..). Rad has to come out as I am slipping a Crower cam in while everything is apart.

Driver gasket came out clean in one piece and was only seeping in the front a little bit (of course there isn't even a water jacket there lol). Waiting to pull pass side until I get the rad out so I don't damage it while leaning over to break the head bolts free. That one I'm expecting at least one major point of failure external in the rear.

was rearended in a school zone about 10 days ago. busted the plastic bumper, and one light, no body damage. the subaru that hit me slipped up under the Disco a bit, lost her front bumper, front fender, front door, inner fender, head light and hood
Her insurance is sending me check... Time for an ugraded rear bumper. I'm thinking Tactical rover rear bumper any other suggestions. I want a bumper that gives mor ground clearance and protects the lower rear fenders.

RTE, though I'm not sure if that involves cutting of the rear fenders.

thanks 've looked at those. i like the looks of the one rear option, and your are right, I'm not sure it gives better clearance.

Biggest thing is the trailer hitch is going to be the lowest point unless you integrate it into the bumper. Cutting the fenders up definitely helps with not getting hung up on the fender but would need to ensure you have a substantial horizontal plate to protect everything there, if that makes sense. The PO built or had one made custom for mine and it's quite robust and if not for the hitch assembly would help the departure angle (however the hitch assembly does a great job of protecting the gas tank so I'm okay with it).

I also like having the hitch there, the tactical rover bumper allows the oem hitch to be tied into the bumper.
It also removes the plastic corner pieces and replaces them with contoured steel.
i'm leaning that way, I like the fact that I can finish the bumper myself, I do not like powder coating, It does not last, I can order the bumper ready for paint and coat it in raptor liner, easy to reshooot if necessary. I usaully apply three coats of liner then 3 coats of satin clear, this seems to be a very durable surface on several projects.
