What did you do with your DII today?
curious to see how you like the destinations! 35s sure can look just right on these. I think a 3" lift and maybe a 1" body lift might be the right match if adverse to trimming. Or portals but you know, probably not a lot of people willing to pay even though that's the true right answer for big tires on rovers imo.
Been unseasonably cold and finally had the snow melt enough to get a jack out there and see how the methods fit on the classic. Going to look great but need extended studs before I can realistically mount them up.
I know not d2 content but I just keep driving both of them and they keep chugging along.
Wow, glad she is ok. Not easy to turn over a Disco. D2 was my daughters first car too, she totaled an Acura within the first month and D2 got a steel bumper. She swapped Discos a couple of times and when she finally got a Ford Escape hybrid dropped a wheel off shoulder and overcorrected coming back and rolled it several times. She said would not have happened in D2

I also see no way that 1" more lift would prevent the need for trimming *if* you're going to wheel it. It may in a strict street usage situation. Really I think 33s are kind of the max without at least minimal trimming, as my 33s would rub just a little in the rear wheel wells at full flex, but not enough that I had to trim anything.
Of course I still rub the radius arms at full lock, but wider offset wheels or wheel spacers would necessitate more extreme trimming. Overall very happy with the setup.
Hope you're able to repair it. If insurance totals it, might buy it back. Someone will likely be interested in saving that Kalahari even if you aren't.
I've also got them on my Silverado, love em. Haven't used them off road a whole lot yet, but I will say that they are great on the road. Quieter than some ATs I've ran, and they seem to be lasting. Time will tell about off-road use, and I'll try to report back.

My concern is they don't have enough siping for sloppy winter road conditions. My grabbers with big lugs but more siping struggle a little compared to an AT. I also forget my rear bumper required cutting the panel so I don't rub in the rear, the offset on steel wheels is terrible and required a ton of trimming up front and a little massaging of the rear well.
I'd be hard pressed to move to steel wheels with how well the factory aluminum wheels hold a bead when aired down. I've never even been able to dismount a set myself, always take them to a tire shop.

Agreed, and unfortunately we haven't really had any real snow in about 3 years, so no chance to really test that aspect out. If we make it to CO this fall/winter like we hope, with any luck I'll get to test how they do in the snow. Or maybe we'll get lucky and it'll actually snow here again.

A buddy here also let his 16 year old drive his 2004 Disco for the first time back in the fall. She started from the driveway and immediately slammed it into the garage door (instead of reversing). It made a big dent on the hood, grille, fender, bumper. I had an engineless 2003 parts car and I donated some parts to him. Poor guy.
