This being the second time in 5 years I’ve had to refinish my Disco 2 fender flares I decided I might be better off just removing them altogether.
Removal was easier this time, since I’ve had them off before, but it’s the tape residue that’s a bitch to remove.
I’ll live with one side on and one side off for a bit and make the final decision. At least if their off, it’ll be easier to sand and refinish.
try cleaning the drain tube underneath. It is a rubber hose near the trans, it can get plugged up and overfills. Or if the drains are broken you can epoxy them back together. If you pull down the headliner, you could fix the mesh pockets.
Run a hose in the sunroof tray and see where the water goes
My drain was broken but I was able to use a bic pen (cut to size) to epoxy into place and it works.
Actually last Sunday, but I finally snapped a picture last night.
Got the drivers seat re-covered with covers from lseat. Install went smoothly, but was time consuming. The headrest was the real huge pain, but I finally figured out to just mash the heck out of it.
This weekend I hope to get the passenger seat done. Looking at the picture I need to also address that passenger door card. The drivers side has been thoroughly cleaned and updated.
I was able to get down to the farm with my family for Easter weekend. Saturday before 9:00 AM my dad managed to get the tractor stuck back in the woods.
After clearing an access path from the old logging road, we used my Silver '04 to pull it out of the mud. We had to use the backhoe bucket to lift the tractor's rear wheels out of the mud and throw logs into the 2 foot deep ruts. Then I locked the CDL and dropped it into Low. These things are torquey beasts in Low gear.
The photos aren't from great angles since there were too many trees blocking any better, clearer sight lines. Hooking up the chains and getting ready for the pull. After we pulled the John Deere out of the mud.
Last week had 3 days straight of rain. I noticed the headliner behind the rear sunroof was wet (right after I fixed the wife's Honda clogged sunroof drain). Reading threads I know everyone's first comment is a clogged drain and close 2nd a bad seal.
After some garden hose rain and finally getting the wife out to help I think this is the culprit, a broken seam on the seal. I got some loctite 401 to glue it back together and time will tell if it holds.
Finished this weekend, and I have no pictures other than the pic for the belt.
Replaced the water pump with flowkooler and did inline thermostat. I still need to complete my mountain shakedown but so far temps are 10-20 lower, and the cooling system is very responsive. I have to say I am impressed by this combo. Cooling system was working fine before, but I have to drive through desert and got really tired of having to slow down so much up hills to keep temps in check.
I also fixed connector for the blower (typical overheated and worn out). Next weekend if the parts arive is new air compressor and bags. My compressor, while still alive has decided its time is comming. Prepping for a cross country trip so making sure I take care of whatever may be needed before hitting the road.
