Richard - It looks great up there. Really good to see that the 4wd club is involved in putting up something like that shelter and helping to maintain the trails. I'm just under 6 hrs from that spot - a bit east and a bit west. We might have to try to meet up at some point this spring/summer for a little bit of low key wheeling and camping.
my daughter was driving back to school Sunday evening when the front u-joint on the front propshaft decided to partially let go. damaged the transmission pan amoungst other things.
vehicle is currently sitting in Tulsa, OK as we try to figure out next steps. i was really hoping this Rover would get her through school. she is doing clinicals right now and graduates in a couple months.
She and i were talking about possible new vehicle options yesterday and she said if it's not an old Land Rover she really doesn't care. nothing else has the look, feel, or soul of these Discoverys.
moral of the story? always grease your propshafts and Land Rover Discoverys can ruin your kids for other cars.
Just up West Harrison Lake BC, poking around some side roads. Some snow squalls, rain and sun a solid BC spring day. A quiet day, broke my hood latch again, just the plastic handle on the inside easy fix once I got home.
This is a nice piece of beach at 15km, but likely heavily used in good weather.
Hale creek the shelter was put up and is maintained by the BC 4wd Assoc
Thank you so much for triggering insane jealousy from those of us not privileged to live in BC!
I was heading back home from the store and saw a car in the ditch outside the turn-off for my neighborhood so after having my winch for a couple of years I finally used it for a vehicle recovery! Very glad I had a couple of long soft shackles because the car did not have a rear tow hook so I asked the owner to attach the soft shackle to the frame and then it was just a straight line winch pull and the D2 got him out! (apologies for the crappy photo, I raised my hood during the actual winching which blocked my dash-cam)

I finally replaced both my steering arms, steering stabilizer, and panhard bar. Installed terrafirma 3 in lift with front dislocation cones, Tom woods front drive shaft and mounted some 265/75r16 on some 16 in steelies I had. Still have a few more things to install but that’s for another day.
