Question What is this rubber piece for ?

About 1 inch long, on the front window frames, above the outside mirrors there is a rubber part lodged in the glass channel felt.
Seen also other brand vehicles with it, and never knew what is its purpose.

Huh, you know, I'd seen that plenty of times but had never really noticed it, know what I mean? Now you've got me curious too.

It's to guide the window in properly at high speeds otherwise the depression suction might pull it outwards as it's closed and it wouldn't seat into the top felt channel. In other words it's a window glass guide.

I second the last post. Also, in Discoveries the window frame is part of the roll protection and having the window up and in place aids rigidity of the protection.
