As Savannah mentioned, check the "head connection" located under the console for remnants of spilled soda.

You can also remove the brake fluid level from the possibles by disconnect of switch atop the fluid container.

That's weird your cdl light is red my 04 is yellow

On 99-02 it was considered a "problem" because it wasn't supposed to be left on except for diagnostic use. So the light is red.

In 03-04 they were preparing to bring the feature back for off road use, so they made it yellow.

Being a 51 plate, it's probably a LATE 2001... as the early 2001 would be a Y reg, if I understand correctly.

Do you actually have a CDL in the transfer case? If not, as some later 2001 do not have it, the harness might just be flapping around and could be shorting against something.
