The "Britpart" one from AB is a motorad in a Britpart box. I first went through the same motions you are going through. I ultimately tried the motorad for a week or so and it was ok then I ordered the genuine one from lucky 8 and It dropped the temp some additional degs. I keep the "britpart" motorad from AB as a spare in my truck but I will allways keep buying the grey genuine one in the future.

That sounds like a good plan, I'll just go ahead and order the OEM one now and keep the Motorrad in the truck.

I believe the TD5 stat is a 180F and the same configuration as the V8. Worth a check.

That was my impression as well but I will be honest and say I am not sure about that. I also thought that it was optional equipment on desert climate Discos, but I don't think that is right.

The grey OEM one is from the Td5. The typical experience for everyone is that they get the Motorad (which appears to be the other option regardless of packaging) and if it works it runs hotter than the OEM grey one. In my case, the thermostat was improperly manufactured too so I question it's overall quality. Yes, it's cheaper but for something so critical to the survival of your engine I think it's worth the extra $30 for the OEM one.

In europe they aren't grey but more often white. Check out this part number PEM100990 for the TD5.

Do a search for a Savannah Buzz post as he has it attached FOC. I have RAVE europe but it may have some differences to the US, I'm not sure.

This may be the correct version. http://www.landroverresource.com/doc...hop_Manual.pdf
