Exclamation Whining with Throttle and Slight Steering Vibration/Buzzing

My 99 Disco 2 went a for long-ish soak during a puddle crossing attempt. After a while I got it back on the road, but I started to hear a cyclic grinding noise coming from the driveshaft area. My first thought was sand in the E-brake from the muddy water, I used a hose and washed it out a couple times and the noise seemed to vanish. However, During a 300 mile trip the squeaking came back and has now turned into a whining with some slight steering vibration (not shaking but more of a slight buzz, not nearly as hard but similar to holding a weed-whacker). The whining starts when I touch the throttle and goes away as soon as I let off. It gets louder with speed. The front axle was rebuilt only 3 years ago (less than 10k miles on it) and the rear axle was rebuilt by the previous owner back in 2012. Diffs and transfer case have been well maintained by the previous owner as I have only taken it about 3k miles since buying it. Any thoughts on what I may be dealing with? Truck is going in for service on Thursday. Just want to know what I may be in for!

No codes (on my reader) or lights at all.

Front driveshaft is a likely culprit. If you have cell pull the shaft and lock the cdl see if it goes away.

The front drive shaft is basically brand new. I have a hard time believing that a little water soak did it in. I could be wrong though. Also, I don't have the CDL controller installed... its on my list of projects... is there a way to engage it without the switch in the cab?

10mm wrench you can slide under the truck and manually turn the cdl nipple on the case

Should there be any movement in that DCJ on the front drive shaft? Not rotational, but up or down?

I attached a video of me wiggling the Cardan joint. I am guessing this isn't good movement!? It was replaced 3 years ago and has less than 8k miles on it. I have no clue how it would've gone bad.

I don’t think it’s supposed to do that

That seems a bit loose.

Problem with sealed joints is no new grease to flush out the sand grit etc that gets in a joint especially if submerged in nasty water. Said crap then destroys the joint or center ball
