Windshield Woes
#11
Good luck, the rave has specific instructions on exactly on on how high and where to lay the adhesive bead in mm's on the windshield (its different top, bottom and sides) you might want to print it off and give it to the next installer (cant hurt, as long as its an oem size replacement windshield). Also, it can't hurt to ask to see the condition of the pinchweld when the windshield is removed, its your money after all.

I have had 3 windshields to date due to impact + stress breaks. I always insist on LR main dealer tinted glass usually made by Pilkington Opticool. The glass is welded/glued in by electrically heated glue fusion and on every occasion I've had no problems afterwars whatsoever. It's all about optimum workshop conditions and correct base preparation. I would never accept the cheap 'made in the far east' windshields used by Autoglass or any other insurer nominated roadside repairer as often the windshield glass and their preparation, temperature control and installation service is cr@p.
