Wont start

Default Wont start

tried to start it after I set off the alrm by accident a couple of times .And now when I turn the key I hear a rapid clicking or tapping niose that sounds like a machine gun. I have power to all lights etc. and sounds but no turn over just the rapid fire? Anyone know what going on?

Hi Mike:

Possible but the sound is coming from underneath Could it be the starter ? I have lights and power???

Yes, the rapid clicking sound is coming from the starter. Lights take minimal amperage to work, and they will operate even with a nearly dead battery. When you try to operate the starter with the same battery, it pulls much more amperage, cannot get it from the battery, and makes that clicking noise.
