I was going to order some new spark plug wires for the 2000 Disco II but noticed in storage I have some new MSD 8.5mm wires that didn't work for a different project. If these are the correct length, and the heads work, (they are 90 degrees on one side and a bit less than 90 of the other side) would they work for the rover?

Doubtful. The coil side is almost definitely different unless your other project was something using very similar coil packs.

 

The coil packs on a rover tend to vary slightly. I would suggest ordering a new set whether its a stock wire or hi performance. Never second guess with Rover parts, it could cost you a lot of time in the long run.
