Would you buy a 2004 Discovery that needed these repairs?

FYI, Land Rover Southampton has a 25% off service coupon out there. I got one in the mail today. Ask for a discount there and you will probably get it.

After 65+ services with them over 13 years, 25% seems generous and insulting at the same time!

281,000 miles on mine and I am having a hard time giving it up.

Read the miles on LandRoverDiscoII@JessyDrives signature. If you get your Vehicle back in shape, and do the required maintenance you can drive it for ever. I sold my D1 (1996) with 203k on it. No issues other then I wanted a newer one.

You may not need everything quoted in the estimate, despite what the dealership and mechanic said. Sometimes one bad sensor (IE: MAF) can trigger other "still functional" sensors to send a signal to the computer that their is a problem... like a domino effect. BUT that does not mean ALL your senors are bad or that your truck is junk. Just start with the MAF sensor, replace it yourself than have the codes reset to see if the problems go away. Never buy your parts from a dealership or local mechanic unless you absolutely have to! They will charge you more than the part is worth and it may not be the right part for your truck. Take your time searching for the best deals and consider buying your Land Rover parts offline from sites like: RoversNorth, AtlanticBritish, Roverlandparts, DAP Enterprise etc You may not have any experience with a wrench but theirs plenty of members on here who will guide you through the process step by step over the phone. Dont assume all is lost on the truck yet, but if your looking for an excuse to get rid of it than sell it to someone here on the forum. I noticed afew members have already made offers for your truck so...

good luck
