Wrong Hylomar used on oil pan gasket all this time?
I was reading through the engine overhaul manual looking for something else, and noticed that the type of Hylomar that Land Rover specs for the oil pan gasket is cross-referenced with Permatex's The Right Stuff. I think common wisdom on here is to use the Universal Blue Hylomar product, which sounds like it might not be the correct one after all? I wonder if that's part of the reason some have oil weeping even after a gasket change.
