Default XYZ switch

I replaced my XYZ switch and I am still having issues. I am thinking that the used replacement part is no good either. My question is do I need to have anything done on the computer to reset the switch or to make it work? or does replacing the switch automatically fix the issue?

I think I may bite the bullet for a new switch. Unless someone has some good ideas..

Thanks in advance for the help!!

do you have any specific fault codes?
Check all the wiring up to the new XYZ switch for chaffing or grounding.

P0705 = "Gear position switch incorrect outputs" so it's the XYZ switch or the wire loom to it is buggered. Spray some contact Cleaner spray in it's connector plug first then ensure you have the XYZ switch correctly installed per the RAVE manual. Cycle through the selectors and check that a) the LED on the Gearshift lights up for each position and b) the LCD in the instrument pack matches what you've selected.

Also... describe the symptoms you are experiencing. do you have 3 amigos and M+S flashing or what?

With the XYZ Switch installed, but the 2 bolts loose you can move the XYZ switch forward or backwards. You want the dash indicator, and the gear shift indicator showing the same thing. Try it in either direction and see if the issue is fixed in one position or the other.

Make absolutely sure your battery terminals are clean & tight. Also make sure the battery is good at 12.5-12.9v.
