Hi,

Does anyone know what type of coolant these things use? And by chance what the special fill procedure is (Completely empty)? This info might be in the owner's manual, but I don't have one.

In my signature there are links to both whole download of the shop manual set and a section by section list for your truck. Also includes owners manuals. Do not use Dexcool.

 

Thanks Savannah for the reply. I found an online resource before you replied stating any ethylene glycol based coolant with OAT can be used. DexCool supposedly meets this criteria. Is your recomendation based on the fact that Dex Cool tends to sludge up? I don't think my trash rover will be running long enough for that to effect anything. I have it in my Vette (which is factory fill obviously) and there's rarely a coolant caused issue with those cars. Basically saying I already used the DexCool before I saw your post :-(

 

Oh, I just wanted to state I only used enough Dexcool to fill the overflow tank, not the whole cooling system.
