Question 01 P38 Electrical now

Parked for 3 days, locked nothing on at all BUT OBDII Ultra Gauge was connected. Tried to start DEAD BATTERY or was it dead? Charger came back 57% when hooked up the PARKING LIGHTS flashed like it does when you use teh remote to lock the car. Then WITH the charger on 10 amps you can hear a relay clicking AND the dome light dims and comes back up. I pushed all the relays down to make sure they where connected and the dog started.
Drove it to the house 1 mile, then found that the mounts for the air pump where broke so it sat for two days. Put on the new mounts and same story as before NOTHING but electrical fault codes which DID not show up on the OBDII. So I have disconnected teh battery, hook up a charger and will let the whole mess charge overnight to see what I have.

What are the odds that the Ultra Gauge is causing the problem since it is always hooked to the unit?
Will look up in RAVE about the relays to see which is what.

Mr. George,

The Ultra Gauge is rated to draw about 1/4 watt of power with display inactive. That's about 20 milliamps, should be OK. If display stays lit, it draws a watt, so that's about 80 milliamps.

Not enough to kill the battery. I am wondering if the battery is BAD. I charged it all night on 2 amps and got 68%. I disconnected it from the car so I was not fighting the draw of the system. My other batteries on a 12 hour charge go to 100% so it looks like the battery goes to low voltage which the Rover then goes into it's protect mode of the system. Is this a good GUESS?

2a on that battery is like baseball with a wiffle ball bat. You need to charge it at 40a for about 2 hours, then run a parasitic draw test. Then post your ma draw here. You could easily have a 2a parasitic draw and all your doing is powering that draw.

Another thought - swap with a know good battery from the rest of the fleet. Does seem that 2 amps overnight with just battery only would have gotten better than 68%.

Talking Works

Problem was the BATTERY CHARGER was only putting out 1.5 amps NO MATTER what you set it on. Got a new one and the OLD DOG is running fine now.
NO I need to get "MJ" on the road got a transfer case now I need to get it to run. Fuel pump problem or electrical to pump will have to wait another run to Florida then I can play with it.
Oh Yea "MJ" is Mutley Jr. the 1996 Disco 1.
Thanks again nice to have people to bounce ideas off of.
