Default 1998 RR dead

My 1998 RR 4.0SE drivers side door will not open after unlock. Can open door from inside by reaching in from rear drivers back door and grabbing door latch.

Remote locked the RR and remote unlocked to leave. Key unlock did not help open from outside. Once inside put key in ignition, DEAD. Tried in all gears, DEAD.

Everything else works but no start. Trailer to get it home last night/

Can the Drivers side door lock get stuck and stop the engine from starting?

When you say everything works means headlights work dome lights work radio etc? What about the steering wheel trick? I'm sure you tried it and the flat bed driver must have tried it to. You jerk the wheel while turning the key. Works on some cars not sure if a P38 RR is like other cars. I'm still thinking of what that could be.
Any other guesses out there in the forum? Speak up. I'm curious to know what the quick fix is.

Sounds like you've got an electrical issue. I'm pretty sure the door lock is irrealivant because you can open the other doors. If it was theft locked you'd be screwed. The door actuator is tied into a few functions but starting isn't one. If started mine plenty of times with the door open.

I'd start with basics. Battery terminals. Grounds. Battery voltage. Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key? Any relay clicking?

We need a little more specific info to help you out. "Dead" doesn't help. It's not dead if other things work.

If you are getting the message on the dash "engine disabled"

do this:

Open driver interior door panel and find these color wires, then splice them to ground.

Green/red wire

Blue/red wire

The problem was none of the above. I ordered a SyncMate and the RR started. It was the engine lost connection with the computer.

Working again!
