4.6 RR less problems than Disco II?
Well, I just picked up a new Toy for my buddy here! 1999 4.6 HSE Range Rover for 1500$ with airbag suspension replaced with spring conversion! When I first moved to South Florida, my buddy had this shop he used and they always had rovers there... I saw this car 8 years ago getting the shock conversion and thought WOW Id live to have one of those! anyway, through the years I saw it there occasionally for maintenance.. was owned by a single soccer mom with 2 kids.. anyway, she finally put it up for sale, in favor for a tiny gas sipping economy "green" car lol ( I bet it will be MUCH "greener" when she is done with that one too! lol) .. it is grimy inside but not damaged really anything thats easily replaced... anyway, it runs GREAT! just time for set of tires and good cleaning! Im pretty sure its the HSE but I forgot to look on back.. its the 4.6 and has the light guards and full brush guard... away, I do not have a place to park it and I hated to let it go to someone who I didnt know so told my buddy and BAM he jumped on it! since only 1500$ I think he will repaint it black.... my question is... do these not have as many " issues" as the Discovery II 4.6? My disco is now running GREAT and I do not have any "new" issues and have really gone though it... didnt need replace much just mostly was READY for the major service but all in all.. nothing rusted... so... with that said... I just dont see as many HOW TOOS for these range rovers as the disco... just curious... maybe Ill pick on of these up cheap also once I can find a parking location! BOY is sure runs GREAT! and shop maintained!!

not much on this forum. check rangerovers.net and make sure download the RAVE workshop manual from landroversresource.com or greenoval
as for you 0430 code.
your Bank 2 cat is malfunctioning. switch the post cat O2 sensors between Bank 1 and Bank 2 and monitor again. If signal from Bank 2 stays the same, then the problem is likely the cat. But, if the "bad" signal follows the O2 sensor to the other bank, then the problem is likely the O2 sensor. easy fix.

Flush the brake fluid with Castro high quality fluid. If your master brake booster or main brake controller goes out you will have catastrophic brake failure.. Yeas...push brakes and nothing.. Happened to me and was pretty scary. The replacement of these is $$$$$..
Good Luck, Chris
