I have been having problems starting my 99 range it just started doing this out of the blue a month ago. It cranks and i have to crank it like 5 to 12 times for it to turn over and start. Once it starts i can turn it off and on like regular the rest of the day, but sometimes i now find myself running low on power trying to crank it so many times. I bought a new battery, installed new spark plugs, new oil filter,new fuel filter, and i just ordered a crankshaft position sensor/inter-motor crankshaft sensor someone told me it could also be a bad Camshaft Position Sensor what do you guys think could be the problem?
I haven't installed the fuel filter or crankshaft position sensor/inter motor crankshaft sensor yet

 

crankshaft position sensor is your likely cause with no codes. especially intermittent.

make sure you order the correct one by the vin, 99 is a half year between two different motors and engine management systems so the parts don't match up at all.

 

error code is p1884 i picked up one from advanced auto parts here it is Buy BWD/Intermotor Crankshaft Sensor CSS1050 at Advance Auto Parts

No apparent effect.

There is a temp sensor before MAF. That could be going out, idk... Check to see if it is connected properly. BTW, is your rover a bosch or gems rover? This will really help us out in future diagnoses. You might consider adding it to your signature.

crankshaft position sensor/inter-motor crankshaft sensor installed fixed problem but have a abs fault showing up in dash

 

does it go away after you drive above 1mph initially? If yes, that is normal.

 

I have three more codes p1171 p1174 and p0455

 

455 is evap system purge, others are lean condition bank 1 and 2; could have knocked a vac line off during your work.
