ABS Pump rebuild

ABS Pump rebuild
My ABS pump finally died. All three lights on and it won't run. I remember reading that a company in CA rebuilds the electric motor on the pump for around $200. Does anyone know who that is that rebuilds these things? I really don't want to tear into it myself, or take it to a local shop that is not familiar with it and I REALLY don't want to shell out $1100 for a new one. Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

It is the pump for sure. It has been on the way out for a while. More specifically, it is the motor that drives the pump. I am pretty sure that the brushes on the motor are just worn down. I just want to have it rebuilt. I am kind of afraid to buy a used one because they aren't cheap and I may end up with another bad pump.

Make sure its not the relay first! My pump went bad. I ended up attempting a rebuild, I DO NOT recommend it! Bought a rebuilt pump off Ebay and the pump was fine, but the accumulator was shot. Ended up costing about $400 total with a new accumulator. The pumps are simple devices and are kinda cool to break open, but only if you are brave and have the time/patience. Before you do anything, make sure its not the relay or something else first. I did a write up on it a while back if you are curious about how it all works: http://yourwebdesigns.com/abpmp/

Well...I pulled the pump apart. The pump itself was fine, but the electric motor that drives it had several issues. One of the brush holders was melted from too much running and one of the solder connections had come loose. So I cleaned it out, repaired the brush holder, resoldered the connection and put it back together. The total time involved to remove and go through the pump, and reinstall it on the vehicle was about 7 hours. If I had to do it again, it would take about 3. Then, I bled the brakes and flushed out the old fluid. Took about 4 hours. Next time, maybe 2. The whole process was a royal pain, but if I ever have to do it again, it will be easy. Before the pump failed, it would turn on after every application of the brakes which is why I believe it failed. Now it only turns on after every 15 or so. The pedal is also much harder. My total investment was about $35.00 for brake fluid, brake cleaner, and misc stuff. If I would have had to rebuild the motor, I would estimate the costs would be about $100
