a pre purchase inspection by a mechanic is always cheap insurance

Atlantic British, Rovers North, BP Utah, British Pacific, and there are more.

Rovers in general do not like overheating, but dash gauges leave a lot to be desired. Check out the Ultra Gauge UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool which can display stuff, alarm points for same, plus read and reset codes. $70.

the air suspension should be checked for leaks. also check for coolant leaks, pull the shield off and check around radiator/hose on main radiator and also the s/c cooler up to the expansion tank, check the tank level. look for puddles underneath the vehicle. if there is a puddle check the color of fluid. if its clear it could be water from a clogged A/C drain, orange is coolant, red is transmission, brown or black is oil/gear oil

I'm pretty sure its not a matter of "if", but more like "when" the air suspension will start to leak. You may want to consider an extended warranty and MAKE SURE items like the air shocks are covered.

Most of the times I see a shock come in thats leaking, the compressor will run itself to death and compressor replacement alone can run you $800+ (from the dealer).

there is another tip. dont buy a land rover or range rover if you wont work on it yourself unless of course you have bottomless pockets.
