Default Cruise control and half of console items not working

I have a '97 range rover 4.0. I bought it Friday, and it is a bit quarky. My cruise control light does not come on when I push the button, and it is not working. Also, the **** used to turn the air to + or - is not working and only some of the other lights in console come on. The cruise control is currently my biggest issue. Thanks in advance for help! I am new to Land Rovers.

First step would be to test every fuse under dash and under hood. Second step would be to download the RAVE, a factory set of shop manuals, electrical maps, and owner manuals. Star with something simple, like console lights not on.

The cruise control on the earlier P38s fails mainly due to 3 things. The first is cracking vacuum lines, second is connection issues with the wiring on the steering wheel to the cruise control computer, and the most common (aside from the vacuum lines) is the cruise control computer itself. Once you have narrowed it down to the computer, replacing it with a later P38's computer (bosch) remedies the issue.

Usually when it is the computer, the cruise control works intermittently. As mentioned above, check for power to the cruise control, if the light is not coming on when you push the cruise control button on the center console, the module might not be getting power due to a fuse being blown. Could also be a burnt out light too.

I have physically inspected all the fuses under the hood and in the passenger seat. I did not see any blown fuses. I'm not sure about relays and how they affect my Rover's problems.
