any ideas on what this code means?

1997 range rover hse 4.6

If it is a 97, he had to use a scanner, his truck is an OBD2.
I am wondering if you used a noncompatiable scanner that is not reading the Rover codes properly.

P1708 is Transfer Box link short circuit.

PO1708 may have been a ttype-o
