Hey guys,
Im new here and this is my first post. Truth is this is my girlfriends car. She is having a problem with her door lock. Weve changed the battery in her remote and everything. It wont lock at all. Nothing will lock with the remote. If we use the button inside it all locks up. But it unlocks when she gets out and it wont re-lock. The whole remote isnt working at all. About 2 months ago we had her rear quarter panel fixed because she backed into my work truck every since then it hasnt worked since we got it back from the shop and they said they did nothing to it and it would be extra for them to look at it. Where should I start looking to find the problem? Where is the receiver module for the remote? Please help ASAP. I leave in the morning for Ocean City. Thanks guys,

Sorry guys the car is a Range Rover HSE 04.

 

get in the car, shut the doors, put the key in and turn it on then off quickly(on, not started) take the key out, hold down lock, and press unlock 3 times and then release lock... the led will flash and the locks should cycle, if they dont try ita few times, if it doesnt work you need it checked out... the receiver is behind the upper trim of the upper tailgate

 

Thank you so much for your help. The remote works now!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. One more thing though. The door unlocks on the drivers side still. The alarm goes off now but still its not really locking. Any ideas?

 

not really locking as in you can open it with the lock button down? try it with someone else... have them manually push the button down and see if you can open it from the outside. then lock it with the door closed, and see if you can open it from the inside, then try the same thing, but hit lock twice within 3 seconds
