Default looking to purchase but need help

I am currently looking at purchasing either a Range Rover or Lr4 in the 2012-2013 zone. Looking to spend under 40k but want to know what to look for. I had an lr3 with 60k and it basically needed all new control arm bushings and tie rods and stuff and the front diff was whining. Dumped that and am looking again. Need to know what problems to look for an what I might be in for.
Thanks

Not very knowledgeable about the LR4 market, but getting a 2013 RR for less then $40k is highly unlikely. Regardless of which way you go get a PPI from a LR dealer or indy LR specialist. They'll go through the car properly, they know what to look for. A couple hundred $ will save you thousands.

The LR4 shares the same chassis as the LR3, only the styling, powertrain and interior equipment have been revamped. So it is no surprise that we are already doing control arm bushings and such on the LR4.

Definitely get it checked out by a specialist before you buy and you need to budget for repairs, plain and simple.
