Default Replacing fuel pump on '99 rover.

Thinking about picking up a really nice '99 Range Rover 4.0L. It needs a fuel pump that costs 550 + labor + towing. Ive been looking for an offroad toy and think i May have found it for 1500. Only problem is 2000 is my budget, so if I can put the pump in I can afford it. My question is how hard is it to put one in? I am pretty mechanic like(brakes, oil, alternators and such.) Please give some instructions.

Lots of Rover oners fix their pump by replacing just the pump part for under a $100 (Airtex I believe). They also get pumps from salvage yard or dismantlers that post on here.

Make sure its not a crank sensor first. You must check to see if its got power at the pump, you can access the wires and poke them under the back seat before they go out to the pump. if its got power its the pump if it doesnt then it could be a sensor or the wiring.
