So what do you plan to do with this new vehicle? do you guys go 4wheeling much and if so how serious are you in off road driving.
By the way, there will be a hugh difference between your Freelander and a used Rover, HUGH, you'll love it.

oops, i did not mean defender, allthough i would like one of those too. i mean disco.......they are running a little cheaper than the RR, but the RR's look SWETT. Can't afford the new one so i'll just have to settle for an 01 or 02........ NOt much off roading around here, but i will be sure to find some. Oh and the gas prices..........hmm.but thats another issue.

I just looked on edmunds.com and see that you could probably find a 01 02 03 RR 4.6HSE for about $25K. The price will depend greatly upon the miles. I would also suggest getting the extended warranty if you plan to buy.
Anyone can buy a used Rover, but can they afford to drive and repair it?
It really depends on if you want a suburban cruiser, a roadtrip vehicle or if you live 30 miles down a gravel road.
