Default 04 Disco...where to start?

Hello I am new here. I am very close to purchasing an 04 Discovery SE with 74K miles. Can anyone tell me what things I should look at replacing and/or checking for a Disco with this many miles? I'm in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area so if anyone knows of a good shop they could recommend I'd appreciate it.

Tom

How mechanical are you, how familiar are you with a Disco? If not then go spend a few dollars, $apx. $100 and have a good knowledgable Rover mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection, this would be the smartest money you will ever spend.
Which model Disco is it, how much are they asking for it?

It is an 04 Discovery SE. A little over 74K miles. They are asking 10K but I think they will go down. I'm going to offer cash.

This will be my first Rover. My good buddy has owned two. A 97 DI and an 04 DII. I've learned a lot about this vehicle from him. He has warned me that they are expensive to maintain but despite that, they is nothing out there like them and the joy of owning one makes it all worth it.

There is a shop near by the specializes in Land Rover so a pre purchase inspection will be a good idea. Thank you.

Well the Disco I went to test drive was trashed on the inside and not well taken care of at all. My hunt continues for the right 04.
