I am down to pulling engine out. all 12 bolts out, 4 from torque convert out
lift is on. jack is under gearbox . should come out
what is the trick to release engine from gearbox. shaking it, pulling it, just won't seem to come out

They normally come apart easily. I can't remember the bolt count, but I would check again around the bell housing.

 

there are to hinden bolt up in the bell housing up from the bottom that the RAVE does not mention.

 

this one has got me stuck, all bolts out according to S.M. 2 more hidden bolts not in S.M.??? I got the 2 bolts facing up in the bell. on the very bottom as part of the 12 removed. Where exactly are the secret bolts located that are not in the S.M. this baby won't come out.

 

I went out in my garage and counted 8 threaded openings on the block itself, and 6 un-threaded holes on the oil pan.

thanks guys, engine is out. drowssap you are right. I had the 2 bolts already out you talked about and counted them in the 12 the s.m. says to remove, there is 12 in the bell, and 2 more not mentioned. comes out a lot more easy with all the bolts out. ahh
